Since the area was too hilly for farming it was promoted by company executives as an “exclusive residential community” for company executives and thus the picturesque community of Barton Hills was born. It is just 4 miles to UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN HEALTH and 8 miles to ST JOSEPH MERCY HOSPITAL, 3 miles to Amtrak and 30 miles to Detroit Metro Airport.
