My husband and I moved to Whitmore Lake from the upper peninsula of Michigan, we were looking for an area with a small town feel but still have easy access to our areas of work and Whitmore Lake was the ideal place for us.
We moved to Eagle Garden Subdivision and have enjoyed the idea of it being a very safe area to live in, and the neighborhood is very family oriented. We enjoy seeing the kids around us getting on the bus just across the street, watching them play football and ride their bikes around the neighborhood. We enjoy going for walks with our dog or riding our bikes around the subdivision ourselves knowing we are in a safe area.
Living in Whitmore Lake we have easy access to the expressways or just going out to eat at the local restaurants. We can have anything we want to eat and be there within minutes of our home.
There were many things that drew us to this home. We like the size of the house. We like the privacy that nature provides in our back yard. It is very peaceful sitting on the deck during the summer watching the wildlife in the pond area. We are happy that no one can build a house behind us and future homeowners will be able to enjoy this feature also. Eagle Garden also has sidewalks, and a park just down the street which we enjoy.
Our home is efficient, the average cost for gas during the winter is approximately $120 per month, during the summer it is around $50.oo per month. Our average electric bill is around $80-$100 per month. We have a well, so we do not have a water bill. Economically it has been very reasonable to live here.
